done with 1 week of kewoc. many more weeks to go haha. i know i can't complain since i willingly signed up for this, but my dear friends, i really can't go out this holidays any more, at most breakfast on sats or suppers (if u drive me out). but so far has been fun and enriching =D heading flag comm is stretching me quite a bit i must admit, and years of council experience do not seem sufficient at all. but stress aside, i really hope that God can use me and the other Christians around in making a difference in kewoc.
on a similar note, I want this holiday to be a God-filled one despite the hecticness. i've started on a maxlucado book, and i'm happy to say that i will be starting to teach in sunday school soon. plus, i'm expecting lots of camps/workshops/trainings this holiday (somehow i'll squeeze time out to go for them) for both crusade and vcf (long story as to how i ended up in this) since i'm going to serve in both ministries the coming acad year.
and don't let me get started on sps work. the point is, i'm totally missing GSS this year. |

I loved the 2 whole weeks in Cambodia =)
I suppose I was rather wary at first. I didn't know most of the team well, and I was doubtful of what we could really do in Cambodia, and I was sad to miss the TW trip. But my this first OCIP trip was AWESOME. I admit we didn't work super super hard, and overall the trip was kinda relaxing and holidayish. But, I'm glad to say that we made a difference. The things we did were not big ambitious ones: setting up mini-libraries, mural-painting, playing with the orphanage kids, conducting english lessons, building garden patches, shampoo-ing; but I'm a believer in the idea that every small thing counts =)
loved how the kids smile at us; loved how they love posing at the camera; loved the cheap good food; loved our wonderful hosts; loved the loved the team =) loved how we all went crazy abt same-same t-shirts; loved the shopping/sight-seeing/eating; loved the bridge/mahjong/hearts/htht sessions =)
loved how the kids have a heart for God! at the orphanage where the kids wake at 5+ each morn for devotion (I joined in one morning but I couldn't understand the sermon at all >.<); at the school where the slum kids sang songs like This is the day and Father Abraham during lessons, conducted by the excellent kindergarten teacher who thanks God for her extraordinary ability in handling the class. and I'm thankful for my prayer buddy who kept up with our daily devotion cum reflection cum prayer time <3 even though this trip was a secular one, we were strategically placed in the hands of Christian hosts, courageous Christians who followed God's calling to leaving Sg to serve in the Cambodian community. and it made me think about how the Gospel is spread. Does everyone get a chance to hear the Good News? the kids at the orphanage got to know Christ cos the orphanage was set up by Christians, but what about the villagers? I got to talk more to a teenage girl, and was encouraged when she told me that she accepted Christ at the orphanage and actually shared the Gospel with her parents. and we learnt about Cambodia's sad and gruesome history. and it made me wonder again, why does God let such things happen?
i wanna go mission trips! and this might sound crazy and immature, but i wanna serve long-term in such countries!
btw, it was cool to receive results at Angkor Wat haha. |

It's Friday! and I just had almost 2 hours of nap (ok i planned 1 hour but I couldn't get out of bed haha). It feels so good to hand in the second lab report of the week =) And even though work still beckons, I'm feeling very happy =)
Happy and thankful that God has seen me through the whole week, and that there were lovely times like odd's bday surprise and fellowship times =) Though I must admit that yesterday I was so tired that I didn't know why I still wanted to irrationally wanted to go for flagpole prayer. Reminder: Jesus is my living water.
Also, I got to watch the LTC for class... I'm glad to say that I came out of the theatrette unharmed, but I must say that it was a really weird show and got us thinking quite a bit. |

Today I went to a wrong bus-stop, but still found a bus to take me to my destination. God reminded me of my life; that He would always lead me back onto the right path even if I get myself lost. That's my story. What's yours? |

I loved these past few days: some random sps workshop + met up with lovely peeps (and baked alaska to myself!) + church + tuition + met up with another lovely bunch of people, yes launch (with demolab tour by the legendary profsow!) + sps comm mtg cum outing + girls' retreat + great find of a french bible at salvationarmy + dinner =)
and tmr's gonna be nice day with my guitar/maths coach, shu <3 I don't want to study, but I know I need to cos I have 4 midterms. but again should be doing assignment instead.
anw, girls' retreat made me think quite a bit, but an important take-away was that God is sufficient for me. |

1 more week of school before recess week. School is rather boring, with a minor incident on Wednesday, and returning to NJ for angklung juniors recruitment, and 3 labs in the week (which translates to 3 lab reports due >.<) And it's Prayer Engage week =) Am thankful for the constant reminder to set aside time each day for God from whom I draw strength to pull through the long long schooldays.
